Concert Review

On Feburary 27th, at Mohegan Sun, in Conneticut, I went to the Black eyed peas concert, part of their "E.N.D tour." Personally, I thought the concert was AMAZING. Althought the venue at Mohegan is rather small, the crowd was up on their feet, having a "good, good night!"

The opening acts were LMFAO, and Ludacris, they were great. Sometimes, opening acts are lousy or not worthy of watching. But both acts had excellent showmanship as if they were the main event. They did their job of getting the crowd hyped very well. The majority of the crowd seemed to be over the age of 25, so when Ludacris played his throwback songs from the early 2000's most people knew the words, and enjoyed the old music! Like his very first song, "Move B***, Get out the way!," and then my generation were grooving to his newer hits like "How low can you go."

The Black Eyed peas opened up with "Lets get it started in here!" And well...they did get it started in there!! I thought the crowd was loud for the opening acts, but as soon as the black eyed peas started the crowd went crazy. The group has a natural ability to command the attention and energy of its viewers, and that is exactly what they did, the whole night. The performance had a perfect blend of old songs and new songs from their new album. Throwing it back with songs like "My Humps" and showcasing some new stuff like "Now Generation."

Also, some may associate the Black Eyed Peas mainly with Fergie because she appears to be the leader of the group, or most famous. But to my surprise at the concert, she did not steal the show, Taboo, Will.I.am, and APL all had pretty equal audience attention in the show from my point of view. Though Fergie did perform her solo "Glamorous" and "Big Girls Don't Cry," Will.I.Am, free styled and did some amazing DJ'ing. Some critics said they didn't like his DJ'ing section because they wanted to see the Black Eyed Peas not Will.I.Am. But I strongly disagree, his DJ skills threw in a nice twist. He kept the audience intrigued by playing blurbs of songs that are common to society like "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Jump Around." Fun songs that kept the crowd energized.

The Black Eyed Peas were like a never ending surge of energy. You would think they would get tired, but not once did they show it! As the songs continued, the crowd just got more pumped! Not only were the vocals and raping superior, the dancers were on point as well. Consistent with their futuristic theme, the dancers came out as robots or in sleek outfits. The Black Eyed Peas also wore geometrically shaped clothing with silver and black colors to project the futuristic ideas.

To summarize, the concert was unbelievably perfect! I personally have NO flaws to report to you. My only advice...BUY A TICKET NOW!

I think seeing a concert at Mohegan Sun might be better than Madison Garden, right? not too large - I wish I could've been there, but your article makes it sound pretty immediate.

Sounds like fun! Ludacris is a great artist, as you describe. I am part of that "over 25" generation you spoke about, so I just have to know - did he sing Roll Out?
